Project S.T.A.R.T. stands for Senior Technology Awareness & Resource Training.
Our mission is to move beyond basic tech support and provide everyone with the high-level resources they need to thrive in a digital world. By prioritizing an AI-First approach, we empower our community to use technology as a personal assistant—making life simpler, safer, and more connected.
While our curriculum is senior-centric, everyone is welcome and invited to attend our events.
This is the essential first step in Technology Awareness. Before we dive into the power of AI, we teach the "S.T.A.R.T." defense protocol to identify and reject digital threats. We show you how scammers use technology so that you can stay one step ahead, backed by our "Call Before You Click" safety net.
This is the core of our Resource Training. We teach you how to turn your device into a 24/7 personal assistant using simple voice shortcuts like "Hey Google, let's talk." You will learn how to use AI to find information, draft messages, and solve daily problems hands-free, without the frustration of complex menus.
Once you have mastered the resources, we show you how to maintain the tools. This module covers essential device maintenance to keep your AI assistants running smoothly. For those who need a more personalized touch, we offer one-on-one customized services to set up your home and devices for maximum ease of use.
We provide these training sessions free of charge to local organizations, churches, and community centers in and around the St Louis Area.
A Community-Sustained Resource Project S.T.A.R.T. survives on the generous tips and contributions of the people we serve. While we are not yet a 501(c)(3), every contribution helps us provide these resources to neighbors who need them most.
Why Support Us? Our safety checks and community seminars are 100% free for our neighbors. Your contributions directly cover:
Local Outreach: Bringing free safety workshops to Metro East community centers and churches.
Printed Resources: Providing physical scam-prevention checklists for seniors to keep at home.
Mission Costs: Keeping our website and local phone lines active.
Based in Edwardsville, serving the bi-state area. Thank you for helping keep our community safe!
